B.N 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2003 The department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Groningen University Hospital (AZG), is looking for a gynaecologist with the profile of a (future) perinatologist. The main function of the AZG is to provide excellent health care, scientific research, training and education. Important activities of the subdepartment of Obstetrics are Obstetric High Care (OHC) and antenatal diagnosis. Main research topics are: maternal serum screening for antenatal diagnosis, vascular pathology within preeclampsia and HELLP-syndrome, placenta pathology in early pregnancy, backgrounds of intra-uterine fetal death and pelvimetry. The start of the OHC and the establishment of an Obstetric Daycare Centre (DOC) are now well underway. The extension of the staff is closely related to this. The tasks and responsibilities of the new obstetrician are to be defined in mutual consideration. Hence, the department offers many possibilities for personal development. Requirements: Required education/skills: Important personal characteristics are: team spirit and collegiality, ambition, (demonstrable) affinity with the sub-areas as well as an eye for the psychosocial aspects of the field. We expect active participation in the scientific research of the department. Also (recently) registered gynaecologists who aim for further academic education are requested to apply.
