Joy 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2003 The Dream Team formed under the leadership of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) honorary-secretary Binay Raj Pandey will tour Sri Lanka from January 13 to February 15, CAN said in its press release on Thursday. According to the press release, the team consisting six players from Nepal, four from United Arab Emirates, two from Singapore and one each from Oman, Kuwait and Hong Kong will play three one-day and three two-day cricket matches in Sri Lanka. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Development Officer Sri Lankan Rumesh Rutnayke has been appointed as the chief coach of the Dream Team featuring players from non-Test playing nations. Nepali coach Arun Aryal is the assistant coach of the squad. Raj Shrestha of Nepal has been named the captain of U-15 Asia team. Along with Shrestha, the dream team contains five other Nepali players - Sarad Veshwakar, Pawan Das, Paras Khadka, Irfan Siddique and Deepak Shrestha. The team selection was carried out by three development officers Iqbal Sikandar (Pakistan), Roger Binny (India) and Rumesh Ratnayake (Sri Lanka). Nepali middle order batsman Ravi Thapa is one among five reserve players. The dream Asia team formed from the non-test playing nations that participated in recently concluded U-15 Asia Cup includes Prateesh Rajpal (captain of Kuwait who scored sensational 196 from 86 balls during U-15 Asia Cup), James Atkinson (Hong Kong), Ramveer Rai, Oasim Zubair and Rameez Shahzad (all from UAE), Rizwan Nasir and Jackie Kumar (both from Singapore) and Pranav Mehta (Oman). The reserve players are Robert Beacon and John Beacon (both from Hong Kong), Tham Shu Chua (Singapore) and Muralitharan (Malaysia) along with Ravi Thapa. Joy 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2003 ACC U-15 to play a 2-day, four one-day matches in Sri Lanka The ACC U-15 'dream team' is scheduled to play one two-day match and four one-day matches against the local teams of Sri Lanka in Colombo and Galle. The team selected from the best performing players of U-15 Asia Cup held in UAE will be led by Nepali captain Raj Shrestha and will feature five more Nepali players. Honorary Secretary of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Binaya Raj Pandey will be the manager of the team while ACC Development Officer from Sri Lanka Rumesh Ratnayake will be the coach. Nepali coach Arun Aryal has been nominated as the assistant coach of the dream team. According to the schedule, the team will arrive at Colombo on 31st of January and will train there for two more days before playing a two-day match. A pre-tour press conference is also scheduled on 1st of February. On 6th and 7th of February, the team will play two one-day matches and will head for Galle on the 8th. In Galle, the team will play two more one-day matches on 9th and 11th. The team will then return to Colombo and then to their own countries.
