shyamprad 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 HOLY: Festival of COLOR or Festival to ABUSE? As we all are quite closer to one of the greatest festival, the HOLY; one thing also come with this good message but with bitter sense. Since past few years, a bad culture has established specially in Kathmandu valley that is nothing but the LOLA culture. Most people are victimized with this culture even before more than a week to go HOLY. A good festival is turning its beautifull aspects towards an ugly one. Youngesters seem to enjoy with this brutality, actually pushing them to the dark side of UN-humanity. I can easily guess the, most of us are against this culture and even would like to discourage such activities. Always, we are the looser at least to eliminate it. Let us try this time to make HOLY a real HOLY festival of friendship, humanity and symbol of peace and victory. What do you think, the things would be useful to aliminate bad perception of HOLY to turn it toward good one. What would be the responsibility of public, government and other social organizations? Or should it be continued as it is? Have you valuable suggestions. Regards, SHYAM
SUMAN-SAJAN 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 i agree shyam ji we have converted a good culture into bad one and im sure in coming days its going to be more worse .............................so its duty of everyone of us to halt this process.................but how ??........................... exactly it has to be celebrated on the ground of humanity and frinedship but not by giving trouble to others . u cant even punish the wrong doers then how can u punish the innocent ones ! lets celebrate with great joy and enthusiasm but donot ever develope it as a culture to hit balloons and water over everyone . HAPPY HOLI

Bharat Thapa 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 I was in Kathmandu last year's Holy. I landed just day before holy and didn't realised Holy was next day. I went out thinking business as usual but was beaten up with Water lola and some point nearly showered with black water with oil (something like diesel), guy was on rooftop with bucket of water and diesel. It is sort of fun if we stick to rules but nowadays people are being extreme.
shyamprad 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2008 Really, Bharat sir, The sitiuation is worsening year by year, we can easily guess what the sitiation would be after 4/5 years. May be people will be bitten up with soils, mud, sand packets and even with stones (If anybody has to take revenge, HOLI would be a good time) LET US TRY TO STOP ALL THESE THINGS. tluck_y 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 especially these 'LOLAS' are the Goli of Holi, making too much prob. while walking on the road.I think everybody are aware abt its negative impact but not likely to change the monkey behaviour,so if it is not possible to stop it morally legal action should be taken specially the days before holi. This festival is being celebrated two weeks before holi, longer than that of Dashain.
